Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the long term visual outcomes in patients undergoing Femto Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS). Methods: In this retrospective study of records of 100 eyes of 68 patients who underwent FLACS, with a follow up of atleast a year, the pre op best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), anterior chamber depth (ACD)(using ASOCT), Corneal endothelial cell count, intraocular pressure, Central foveal thickness , Astigmatism , Keratometry ( Oculyzer), type of intraocular lens placed were noted. Post op BCVA , astigmatism, IOP recorded at first and final follow up were recorded. Results: The preop BCVA (0.40±0.33) improved to 0.92±0.17 at first follow up and to 0.91±0.2 at final follow up (p<0.01). There was no significant difference in BCVA between first and final follow up visits (p>0.05). The average follow up period was 25.17±17.3 months. Conclusion: The excellent visual outcomes achieved immediately following FLACS are sustained during long term follow up.
