Abstract

Aim: To study presentations of ocular tuberculosis (TB). Materials & methods:- Prospective observational study of duration 1 year from August 2021 to July 2022. Study included 17 patients of pulmonary TB receiving anti tubercular therapy. Detailed Ophthalmological examination was done. Anterior segment examined with slitlamp. Posterior segment evaluated with slitlamp with +90 D lens and indirect ophthalmoscope. Detailed blood & radiological investigations were done. Results:- Conjunctival granuloma was present in 1 case (5.9%). Nodular scleritis in 2 (11.8%), interstitial keratitis in 1 (5.9%), anterior uveitis in 4 (23.5%), synechie in 3 (17.6%), vitritis in 4 (23.5%), retinal vasculitis in 3 (17.6%), optic neuritis in 3 (17.6%), choroidal tubercles in 7 (41.2%), posterior scleritis in 2 (11.8%), intermediate uveitis in 3 (17.6%) and multifocal choroiditis in 3 cases (17.6%) were found. Conclusion:- Ocular TB has various presentations. It should be diagnosed as early as possible.
