Abstract
SURGICAL SIMULATION OFFERS TRAINING IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE ONE CAN PERFORM SURGICAL TASKS MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT AFFECTING PATIENT OUTCOMES. SIMULATION HELPS IN REDUCING TRAINEES’ LEARNING CURVE, REDUCING ERRORS IN SURGERIES, AND IMPROVE PATIENT SAFETY. THIS COURSE SHOWCASES BENEFITS OF SIMULATION-BASED CATARACT SURGICAL TRAINING. IT INCLUDES AN OVERVIEW OF CURRENT OPHTHALMIC SIMULATORS, GRAPHICS AND TACTILE FEEDBACK THE SIMULATORS OFFER. CENTERS HAVE ADOPTED SIMULATION-BASED TRAINING SINCE 2021. EXPERIENCE WITH SIMULATORS WILL BE SHARED BY THE LARGEST EYECARE HOSPITAL IN SOUTH INDIA.
