Abstract

There are some challenging situations during cataract surgery which may make it risky and unsafe to continue with phacoemulsification especially in surgeons with limited experience. In this situation surgeons with a good knowledge and expertise in manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) can convert the surgery to MSICS and can complete it safely and with better outcomes.

In this video we present a few situations like capsulorhexis tear and suspected posterior capsular rupture and the techniques to convert it to MSICS. This video will guide the young surgeons on how to convert to MSICS and secure a safe and good outcome.
