Synopsis: Corneal perforations are medical emergencies which all ophthalmologists, whether comprehensive or cornea specialists, in individual practices or institutional set ups, have to manage on a routine basis. Appropriate and timely management of a corneal perforation is the cornerstone to preserving the structural integrity as well as the visual potential of the affected eye. The approach to managing a perforation has to be customized to particular patient and situation as ‘No One Size Fits All’. The surgical approach is decided by the location and size of the perforation as well as the presence or absence of accompanying infection.
