Abstract
Irreversible vision loss can occur due to delayed treatment . To address the communication gap between doctors-patients-counselors and improve compliance, diseases were coded . E1 – HIGH RISK: Targeted counseling for 5-10 minutes to ensure treatment done within 1-4 days. E2 – AT RISK: Counseled for 4-8 minutes, treatment done within 5 to 10 days. 3 – LOW RISK: within 1 month or at patient’s convenience. From August 2013 to September 2016, of 2163 E1 cases, 1719 (79.5%) treatment done on the date advised and 259 (12%) rescheduled. Of the 11838 E2 cases, treatment done on appointment date by 10346 cases (87.4%), 1069 (9%) rescheduled.
