Abstract

Purpose- Through this video, we intend to demonstrate few technically challenging cases of recurrent Retinal detachments with varied presentations. Methods- All video records of patient undergoing surgery for recurrent retinal detachment were reviewed. Causes for re detachment were noted. Grouped into different categories. Surgical techniques in tackling causes for re detachment were explored. Results – Rate of re detachment varied between 10–20% in different causes. Common causes included incompletely peeled posterior hyaloid membranes, star fold formation under the oil, intrinsic retinal contraction and subretinal bands. Sub retinal oil migration was noted in few. A good share of patients benefited highly by restoring a good vision. Conclusion-

Despite excellent skill, technique and high-end technology some cases present with recurrent detachments. By utilizing the techniques shown in the video, one can have a better understanding to tackle cases of recurrent Retinal detachments.
