Abstract
As such, operating in traumatic retinal detachments is difficult enough and then there comes Murphy saying what if I don’t give him enough view… can he do his job …?
Presenting a few such cases including story of a 22-year-old construction worker, where the metal shard pierced his eye causing a large corneal tear. Immediate corneal tear repair was done, and VR surgery was done 1 week later. Surgeries were done through a small zone of clear cornea available which we called as Window of Hope!
Surgery was done using digitally assisted vitrectomy system, intra operative OCT and with a lot of prayers…
Even though the surgery was challenging due to poor visualization, Seeing the happy patient in the end, Trauma doesn’t seem so traumatizing anymore.
Let the hope prevail!!!
