Abstract
Purpose:To identifysocioeconomic,demographic,clinical factors that may be associated with sibling access to ophthalmic check-up.Method :A cross-sectional, descriptive study inchildren of age group 0-15 years under project on systematic pediatric eye care through sibling screening strategies . If parents don’t bring sibling for check-up within one month of initial information and after 2 SMS reminder, it was considered as failure to uptake of services. On follow up later they were provided questionnaire. Results:Out of 300 patients majority of them were female (158). The urban and rural area, monthly income were significant reasons for not bringing sibling child to base hospital. 74.3% of parents reported inability to leave work responsibilities and cost of transportation were significant factors. Conclusion :Our study suggest that education, financial factor, distance factor, social belief play an important role in timely uptake of sibling eye check-up.
