Abstract
This study was conducted in tertiary eye care centre to evaluate the effect of ROCM in our community in whole with efforts to negate its complication
We did this study on 200 patients affected with ROCM during the epidemic and ophthalmic complications faced by them as an aftermath
44% had irreversible blindness in the form of CRAO and unilaterally and 7% among them had bilateral involvement complete lagophthalmos was present in5% complete ptosis was present in 36 % Complete or partial ophthalmoplegia was present in 24% and regressing proptosis was present in 18% due superior orbital fissure syndrome
Persistent corneal complications in the form of exposure keratitis in 5% was treated accordingly
One patient had chronic CSR
It was noted that 44% patients among them never ever had their blood sugar evaluated and around 36% had fulminant diabetes Mellitus Type two with 24% had developed Diabetic keto acidosis as part of their profile
Regular and timely investigations was required
