Abstract
Purpose:Compare clinical & biometric findings of Nanophthalmos (NO group) with age matched controls(CO group). Methods:Retrospective, study with NO(<18 years) at tertiary center (Jan 2010-Dec 2019).Best corrected visual acuity ,axial length (AxL), keratometry ,anterior chamber depth (ACD),lens thickness ,retinochoroidal scleral thickness ,corneal diameter, central corneal thickness (CCT),intraocular pressure, lens axial length factor(LAF) and lens thickness/anterior chamber depth ratio (LT/ACD) compared. Results:Mean age and spherical equivalent(SE) was 8.95 ± 4.0 years and 10.87 ±3.1D.Ocular associations were esotropia, amblyopia,PACG,pigmentary retinopathy and retinal detachment.50% had angle closure disease(30% laser iridotomy).Significant difference in CCT, SE,ACD and LAF.Multivariable regression analysis showed significant correlation. Conclusion:Amblyopia seen in NO.AxL<17mm had angle closure with lower ACD and higher SE,LAF.CCT was significantly different.NO needs close monitoring.
