Abstract
Stickler syndrome is associated with retinal detachment and open angle glaucoma. We report the clinical association and outcomes of two patients referred to a tertiary care center.
A 25 year old male patient with stickler syndrome presented as retinal detachment in right eye (RE) and open angle glaucoma in left eye (LE). Following post retinal surgery, he developed secondary glaucoma and underwent diode cyclog6 photocoagulation in RE. In the LE, on maximal medical therapy his IOP was not controlled and underwent trabeculectomy.
A 14 year old male patient with stickler syndrome presented as retinal detachment in RE and LE open angle glaucoma. Post retinal surgery he developed secondary open angle glaucoma and had underwent re trabeculectomy due to uncontrolled glaucoma. Following failed trabeculectomy he had undergone Ahmed valve implantation. Both cases IOP remained well controlled postintervention. Adequate screening is required in the management of stickler syndrome.
