Abstract
Moyamoya disease is a chronic cerebrovascular occlusive disorder affecting proximal portions of the anterior and middle cerebral arteries or the terminal portions of the bilateral internal carotid arteries. It can lead to irreversible visual loss in some cases.
A 21-year-old female presented with a 1-year history of reddish blue mass over the inferolateral aspect of bulbar conjunctiva of the left eye with no associated ocular complaints. The clinical evaluation suggests the possibility of a vascular lesion. Magnetic Resonance angiography of orbits & brain showed a mild diffuse narrow caliber of the right internal carotid artery along with numerous collaterals. The neurologist suggested no intervention owing to sufficient collateral vessels. The patient underwent an excisional biopsy of the mass which was sent for histopathological study. The final histopathological diagnosis was subconjunctival hemangioma. At follow-ups till 18 months, the patient showed no evidence of recurrence.
