Abstract
Fibrous dysplasia is a benign disorder of bone. Monostotic fibrous dysplasia is the most frequent form, and accounts for approximately 75% of all cases. Fibrous dysplasia occurs due to an activating somatic missense mutation of a G protein that interferes with normal bone maturation and resorption. The most common sites of involvement are the craniofacial skeleton, ribcage, femurs and tibias.
A 22-year-old female, came with complaints of headache along the right side and right sided supraorbital pain since 2 months. She was operated for fibrous dysplasia in 2014 and titanium mesh removal was done in 2018. On examination, irregular bony growth was seen in right frontal and fronto-zygomatic region. Proptosis measured 22mm OD and 13mm OS. EOM were partially restricted in OD in all gazes. Fundus was normal. CT Brain showed ground glass matrix with bony expansion on the right side. Navigation and endonasal guided debridement was done.
