Abstract
Orbital decompression is done to accommodate overgrown muscles and adipose tissue in TED. Methods: 70 year male presented with complains of LE appearing larger than RE since 15 years. He has hyperthyroidism since 27 years. His BCVA in OD is 20/200 and OS 20/40. There is limitation of adduction, abduction and elevation in BE. Hertels exophthalmometry demonstrated OD-29mm and OS-34 mm. There is UL and LL retraction in OS, mild conjunctival congestion in OU. Rest of the anterior segment in OU is unremarkable except for the cataractous lens. IOP was 16mmHg (OD) and 17mmHg (OS). fundus was un-remarkable. CT-scan orbit showed significant muscle enlargement in BE with hypo-densities in the muscle, decompression of the medial wall on the right side. Discussion: Spontaneous orbital decompression is incidental finding on radiology. As the medial wall is thinnest it is more prone for the spontaneous decompression in TED
