Abstract
A 35-year-old male presented with periocular swelling and pain in the ENT department. He was COVID positive 2 months back and had received home management for same. On endoscopy, thickening of the mucosa and mild discharge was noted. Sample sent for KOH and gram staining was found to be negative. MRI showed thickening of sinus mucosa and periorbital swelling with superior rectus involvement. USG showed superior rectus hyper-echoic lesion persisting till low gain suggestive of calcification. CT scan confirmed the same. Thus, a diagnosis of cysticercosis was made and albendazole with steroids was started. On serial follow-up, resolution of clinical symptoms and lesion was seen. This case highlights the importance of ultrasonography and appropriate evaluation in such scenarios.
