Abstract
Lower lid is affected by many conditions resulting in laxity/ overtightening of the lid and leading to entropion / ectropion. This could be primary or secondary. Most of this conditions can be treated by lateral tarsal strip surgery either in its original described forms or its various modifications. This surgery treats lid conditions without distorting lid margin and thereby prevents any consequent scarring. Also by reconstruction of the lateral canthal angle it retains a youthful appearance of the eyes. The learning curve is also very favourable and easily adopted by general ophthalmic surgeons and hence a brilliant single answer to multiple problems.
