Abstract
Aims: To evaluate and compare novel method to take IOP by translid and compare with applanation tonometer.t Methods: A total of 955 eyes were screened in camp for IOP measurement by newely develped translid tonometer and comapred to applanation tonometer. Results: The average IOP measured by new method and application was 19.4 ± 3.5 and 16.1 ± 3.4 mm Hg respectively. (<0.005). Through eyelid tonometer device has showed significant correlation (r=0.9123) with applanation tonometer. Although results will be more promising after validating in a greater number of clinical subjects. Conclusion: The comparative results obtained from through eyelid tonometry device tonometry, and applanation tonometer of IOP were found to be clinically relevant. The proposed device seems to provide a better choice for tonometry incamp patients, in minimum resource setting where Goldman applanation tonometry is not possible.
