Abstract
Method:Retrospective data analysis was done for patients diagnosed as orbital lymphangioma. Cases were diagnosed based on clinical and radiological findings. 12 patients were managed with intralesional bleomycin. CT angiography/ doppler was done to confirm the absence of flow.
Result: Complete resolution was seen in 58 % (7/12) of lesions after single dose of bleomycin injection. 41% (5/12) with good response, but needed multiple intralesional injections for recurrence. No systemic or local side effects were encountered during the procedure.
Long standing cases of orbital lymphangioma showed poor responses.
Conclusion: Intralesional bleomycin therapy was very effective in the treatment of lymphangioma. Our results were comparable to other published studies. Bleomycin injection was found to be safe as there was no serious complication or side effect observed in the study.
