Abstract
5 patients in the age group of 14-30 years presented with hypotony with the intraocular pressure in the range of 2-5 mm of Hg. All 5 patients had a history of blunt trauma leading to a cyclodialyisis cleft. The BCVA in all 5 patients was <6/60.The cyclodialysis cleft in all the cases was more than 180 degrees .The cyclodialysis cleft extent was confirmed on gonioscopy and on UBM. After maximum medical management the IOP was not increasing and all the patients showed optic disc edema with hypotony maculopathy with gross diminution of vision. All 5 patients underwent cyclodialysis repair with the new “Sewing machine technique” and post-operatively showed an increase in the intraocular pressure with normalization of the macula and optic disc edema with increase in the BCVA. Average follow up is of 6 months. All 5 patients underwent secondary IOL implantation.
