Abstract
For years MMC has been used as an adjunct, which has greatly augmented the success of glaucoma filtration surgeries. The dosage, reconstitution, technique & duration of application varies from surgeon to surgeon. It is one of the important factors deciding surgical success.Literatures gives multiple dosages and ways of reconstitution. The two common methods of application include application by sponge or by subconjunctival injections. These variations pose a great challenge to the budding glaucoma specialists hoping to achieve the desired result. While sponges are more commonly used,it has problems like MMC burns, retained sponges leading to infections, inability to know the exact amount of drug delivered. Subconjunctival injection of MMC is being used commonly now with comparable surgical outcomes & no increase in complications
