Abstract
Aim-To determine the efficacy of Indo cyanine green (ICG)- enhanced Trans-pupillary thermotherapy (TTT) in reactivation of retinoblastoma. Method-It’s prospective study,10 eyes of 10 patient with persistent reactivation where included .About 0.3-0.5 mg/kg body weight of ICG was injected 1 min before initiation of TTT. Results-Median session of standard TTT before ICG enhanced TTT was 4 Median session of ICG- enhanced TTT was 2. About 30% showed complete regression without need for additional treatment. 40% required additional standard TTT.10%showed persistent reactivation and required intravitreal chemotherapy. 20% needed additional chemotherapy post ICG – enhanced TTT. 70% showed good regression with average tumor free interval of 10 months .Conclusion-ICG- Enhanced TTT is effective in regression of persistently reactivating small retinoblastoma lesions reluctant to standard TTT. It reduces the need for additional systemic chemotherapy and reduces the frequency of standard TTT.
