Conjunctival incision is made and the 360 degree peritomy is done. Anterior tenons is carefully dissected. Stab incision is made in the cornea and the corneal button is removed. The uveal tissue is separated from the sclera using periosteal elevator. The intra-ocular contents are scooped out and the sclera is kept in contact with absolute alcohol. Two incisions are given on the sclera 180 degrees apart and two petals are made. The remnant uveal tissue is carefully removed and the implant is then introduced inside the sclera and the scleral petals are closed. The anterior tenons is then sutured followed by conjunctiva. The fornix formation sutures are placed to address associated surface loss. The conformer is then kept in place and suture tarsorrhaphy is done.
