Abstract
History:10 year old female child presented with trauma to left eye with a wooden stick 3 years back following which scleral tear repair was performed. Now the patient complaints of dimunition of vision in left eye since 3 months.
Ocular Examination:Vision was diminished in left eye 6/36 no improvement with pin-hole or on dilated refraction.Anterior segment showed eccentric pupil with peaking at 6’o clock position, lens showed traumatic cataract.Fundud within normal limits. Right eye was within normal limits.
Management: Lens extraction,3 piece posterior chamber IOL implantation with pupilloplasty by diathermy and single pass 4 throw technique done.Post-operative vision in left eye was 6/9 after pinhole improvement.
Conclusion:The above method of pupilloplasty helps in regain of useful vision,cosmetic correction and decreased photophobic symptoms.
