Abstract

Scleral melting/ necrosis is considered as devastating complication, which can occur secondary to infectious and immune mediated process viz. SINS, trauma, both blunt & perforating, scleromalacia perforans, peripheral ulcerative keratitis. Even though it requires tailored treatment based on underlying pathology, Sclerocorneal patch graft remains only mode for preserving globe integrity both structurally and functionally in large sclerocorneal defect along with systemic management. It is done in various clinical conditions most commonly for post- pterygium surgery scleral melt, infection and immune related scleral melt, for covering the tubes of Ahmed glaucoma valve implant & covering the orbital implants post-enucleation.

This video contains a bouquet of 3 different clinical conditions viz. corneoscleral cyst excision, perforated PUK, corneal tear post thinning where sclerocorneal patch grafting was done, which served as good tectonic/therapeutic support and helped salvage the eye.
