Abstract
DR. FAIROOZ PUTHIYAPURAYIL MANJANDAVIDA
Ocular tumors be it benign or malignant, can present in various forms. From rare to common tumors seen on ocular surface, eyelid, intraocular and orbital soft tissues requires appropriate management. Principles in the management is to prevent recurrence, in-turn reduce morbidity and improve survival. In the current scenario, with advances in the techniques and available treatment, we still witness misdiagnosis and shortcomings in following treatment protocols. With this course we aim to educate general ophthalmologists, specialists and the post-graduates regarding the need to identify the tumors accurately, histopathological diagnosis, right management decisions and application of the available treatment strategies appropriately without compromising on the protocols. The vision is to spread the teaching of appropriate diagnosis and management of ocular tumors so that we come across least recurrences, more eye salvage and life salvage.
