Abstract
Performing phacoemulsification in routine uncomplicated cases has become safer with predictable results. However, there are cases in which performing a routine procedure may be challenging and may result in complications, thereby warranting a second procedure. In order to avoid them, various additional accessories or steps have been described to manage these cases. Such cases include poor pupillary dilation, corneal haze, nanophthalmos and hypermature cataract. The present video presentation shall share certain finer tips for performing surgery in these cases without the need for any additional accessories. These tips shall help the observer to complete these challenging cases just like routine cataract surgery without any complications. With experience, these steps can be mastered, thereby reducing surgical time with optimum visual results for patient.
