Abstract
METHOD:We report a 70/M with OD DOV for 3 days,with no HO Valsalva/trauma/systemic disease.Fundus=discrete area of haem at fovea obscuring underlying blood vessels,with well-loculated tense shiny membrane over it s/o sub-ILM haem,with yellow spot at its edge(RAM)
RESULT:BP=200/120mmHg.Phsician reference.FA deferred,pt asked to f/up with fitness for surgery.Nd:YAG laser hyaloidotomy deferred due to proximity of aneurysm to fovea,&to avoid risk of foveal damage
FINDINGS:Due to presence of haem at fovea,with no reduction in size of haem&no improvement in BCVA on f/up,23G 3port PPV,ILM peeling,aspiration of haem,EL around RAM done.POD7=VA 6/9,N6,normal OCT
CONCLUSIONS:RAMs are acquired,focal dilations of retinal arterial branches,within first 3 bifurcations from optic nerve.Fundus exam can be life-saving&timely intervention improves vision and quality of life
