Abstract

OPD FGE is performed in case of post vit hem.if it is not absorbing in due course of time& B-scan is found unremarkable.We developed tech of OT FGE in which 2 needle punctures are made of which 1 should be temporar side.FAE pressure is set at around 30-40 on console,patient is in lying down position under microscope his face in tilted temporarily&blood stained fluid is drained through temporal open end needle.Procedure done in sterile environment of OT under microscopic magnification and illumination in a controlled manner.Conversely in OPD FGE is performed with BIO,in relatively less sterile OPD&found to be cumbersome,tedious.Moreover in OT FGE at the end of procedure one can inject anti VEGF to preclude further bleeding in the vitreous cavity.This innovative OT FGE procedure is less invasive,sterile & ease with additional benefit of intravit anti VEGF injection that can be given at the end. Hence OT FGE has edge over OPD FGE in case of post-op non-absorbing hem. in vitrectomized eye.
