Abstract

Introduction: Iris Claw lens placement can be a viable options where an in the bag IOL is not possible. In recent years retropupillary iris claw lens has replaced lens supported on anterior surface of Iris. In certain scenarios, these retropupillary Iris Claw lens may need explantation. There exists a lacunae of literature on surgical technique to remove such lenses.

Purpose: To show mistakes and lessons learnt by a young VR surgeon in cases requiring removal of iris claw lenses.

Present video highlights the challenges faced while trying to explant iris claw lens. It shows how a young surgeon learns and adapts a simple technique to remove such lenses using basic instruments.
