Abstract

This is a case report of 29 year old female ( postnatal case 1 month) presented with sudden painless diminution of vision in both eyes since 8 hours . She had history of undergoing exploratory laparotomy with hysterectomy one day back .Vision in both eyes was perception of light only , rest of ocular examination including pupillary reaction and Fundus were normal .MRI brain revealed findings suggestive of Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome.Timely diagnosis and management helped in recovering vision of 6/6 . The syndrome is not always reversible. Some individuals can develop life-threatening complications, such as transforaminal cerebellar herniation and focal neurologic deficits, especially if prompt treatment is not initiated. The aim of this case report is to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and management .
