Abstract
AIM : To analyse the spectrum, clinical profile, treatment outcome of paediatric patients in the age group of less than 16 years attending a tertiary eye care organization between January 2019- December 2022.Methodology: The retrospective records of patients satisfying the study period and inclusion criteria were analyzed. Data was extracted and analyzed for appropriate statistical tests. Results: Posterior uveitis was the most common in 24 patients followed by Anterior uveitis in 19 patients, intermediate uveitis in 14 patients and panuveitis in 3 patients. The sequelae of uveitis observed was complicated cataract in 24.11%,Glaucoma in 15.07%,BSK in 13.06%,Amblyopia in 12.56%, CME in 6.03%,RD in 3.02%.The etiology of uveitis observed was idiopathic in about 27.9%, Infectious in 46.7%,Non infectious in 25.58%.Conclusion: Early diagnosis, meticulous evaluation and close follow up are helpful in restoring the vision in the paediatric uveitis.
