Abstract
Macular ischemia is a major cause of visual loss in patients with diabetic retinopathy and retinal venous occlusions. At present, macular ischemia can be diagnosed by fluorescein angiography (FA) and OCT angiography. Multicolor imaging is a new non-invasive retinal imaging modality that simultaneously acquires three reflectance images of the retina using 3 laser colours thereby allowing analysis of changes at various levels within the retina. The present study highlights multicolor characteristics of retinal ischemia and the striking similarity between multicolor and FA images. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report in published literature highlighting the role of multicolour imaging in retinal ischemia.
