Abstract
Valsalva choroidopathy is not a very common entity, seen in patients having acutely elevated venous pressure. In our case, a patient having chronic renal disease had uremic maculopathy. The patient presented with right eye decreased vision after a crackling sound in the eye at midnight with an episode of vomiting. There was clinically significant vitreous hemorrhage. Choroidal elevation was documented on ultrasound. The patient was treated with topical steroids along with a cycloplegic agent. After resolution of vitreous hemorrhage, multi-level hemorrhages including pre-retinal, retinal, subretinal, choroidal and suprachoroidal were noted. The probable mechanism and prognosis have been discussed.
