Abstract
Choroidal hemangioma being an uncommon benign vascular tumor of the choroid has two clinical forms: circumscribed and diffuse. Choroidal hemangioma is typically solid, regularly structured, and highly reflective. The regular structure and high reflectivity are explained by the multiple blood-filled cavities that make up the tumor. These lesions are mildly to moderately elevated with a dome-shaped configuration. A 36 y/o male presented with complaints of diminution of vision for distant and near in LE since 2 years which was gradual, progressive and painless. Fundus examination showed an elevation at the macula in LE. OCT revealed normal foveal contour, concave protrusion of macula. Ultrasonographic imaging showed a dome shaped echogenic choroidal mass lesion at the macula with exudative retinal detachment most likely due to choroidal hemangioma. The patient has been counselled about the need for regular follow up as well as the rare possibility of malignant transformation.
