Abstract

Methods-A total of 30 eyes of 30 consecutive patients with cataract were selected by the inclusion criteria and were enrolled into study.

• All the patients underwent topical Phacoemulsification with Extended depth of focus lens implantation by a single phaco surgeon.

• The patients were followed up on Day 1 , at the end of 1st week and 4th week with distant, intermediate and near visual acuity testing , contrast sensitivity testing, slit lamp and fundus examination and visual function questionnaire.

• Results- AT THE END OF 4TH WEEK OF FOLLOW UP-Distant vision- 90% were with 6/6-6/9.Intermediate vision- 6/6 by the 4th week of follow-up. Near vision- 86.7% with N8-N10 and 26.7% with N6 vision,Night Glare – 26.70%Halos- 30%,Spectacle independence- 80%

Conclusion-• The patients’ satisfaction showed majority were very satisfied at the 4th week of follow up in visual function questionnaire.
