Abstract
Flat irregular pigment epithelial detachment (FIPED) is a shallow, irregular elevation of retinal pigment epithelium(RPE). It is usually diagnosed on high resolution Spectral Domain OCT(SD-OCT) or Split Spectrum OCT(SS-OCT). Its association with type 1 CNVM has been reported in around 22.5% percentage cases. We hereby present a series of cases of chronic CSR where FIPED was diagnosed in OCT and based on OCT characteristics intravitreal anti-VEGF with or without photodynamic therapy was done. Although classic CSR is not a VEGF-related disease, the presence of FIPED should allow the treating surgeon to the possibility of CNVM and institute PDT with or without anti-VEGF therapy.
