Abstract
PURPOSE: To report the 6 months outcomes of gonioscopy assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) in Indian eyes.
METHODS: A prospective study of all patients undergoing GATT/phacoemulsification GATT (PGATT) was done.
RESULTS: A total of 41 eyes (23 GATT and 18 PGATT) met the inclusion criteria with a follow up of 8.3 months. Baseline IOP was 40 mmHg (28-50 mmHg) in the GATT group and 29 mmHg (23-36 mmHg) in the PGATT group which reduced significantly in both groups post the procedures, to 14 mmHg (12-30 mmHg) and 15 mmHg (13-16 mmHg) respectively, p=0.001. Number of medications reduced significantly (p=0.002). The overall success rate was 73% in GATT and 100% in PGATT with a failure of 26% in GATT (requiring trabeculectomy) and no failures in PGATT.
CONCLUSION:There was a significant reduction in IOP along with a reduction in the number of AGM.
