Abstract
Aim: To study the effect of treatment used in ART on IOP & CCT in women undergoing IVF
Method: 57 women who were started on ART protocol, were included in the study. IOP & CCT was noted at the beginning of ART and after its completion, ranging from 2 – 6 months
Results: Mean age was 27±2.9 yrs. Mean IOP was 16.28±1.9 mmHg(RE) & 15.61±2.11 mmHg(LE) before ART. After ART, IOP was 14.21±2.2mmHg(RE) & 13.54 ± 2.3 mmHg(LE); a significant decremental pattern (p<0.0005) was seen. Mean CCT changed from 521.05±31.08 µ(RE) & 519.28±28.08 µ(LE) before ART to 537.35±29.02 µ and 532.67±25.48 µ in RE and LE respectively, after treatment. Thus a significant incremental effect on CCT(p<0.005) was observed Conclusion: CCT values were significantly higher in women after ART. IOP & CCT should be measured as an integral part of ocular examination in women undergoing ART. This will help ophthalmologists to be aware of potential elevated CCT levels in these patients for accurate measurement of IOP
