Abstract
A 17 yr/M presented to us with a h/o firearm blast injury to both eyes (BE). At presentation, his visual acuity was PL+ PR+ in BE and intraocular pressure in right eye (RE) 18 and left eye (LE) 40 mmHg. Multiple embedded Corneal & Scleral foreign bodies with Traumatic Cataract was noted on slit-lamp examination in BE. USG B-scan revealed multiple intraocular foreign bodies (IOFB) in BE. The patient underwent Cataract Extraction, Corneal FB Removal and limited Automated Anterior Vitrectomy in the LE. In second stage Pars Plana Vitrectomy and IOFB Removal with SF6 was done 2 days after the primary surgery. In the RE, same procedures plus corneal tear repair with simultaneous IOFB removal was done. Secondary sulcus fixated IOL was implanted after 2 months in LE and secondary PCIOL by modified Yamane technique was done after 7 months in the RE. His BCVA improved to 6/12 and 6/6 in the RE and LE respectively. IOP remained under control till date and patient is only on lubricant eye drops.
