Abstract
Proven ROM patients having ocular involvement and a history of COVID, underwent ophthalmic examination, serial colour fundus photography, SD-OCT & FFA while eyes that underwent exenteration were subjected to histopathological evaluation. The SD-OCT images were analysed for structural changes & clinicopathologic correlation. 14 eyes were enrolled. Early SD-OCT findings revealed retinal swelling with inner & outer retinal ischemia, posterior hyaloid thickening, epiretinal membrane, inner papillary vitritis & nebulous vitritis. Two distinct patterns evolved on OCT-pathologic correlation 1) Full-thickness retinitis with angio-invasion & associated vitritis 2) Cavitary retinitis with empty spaces in outer nuclear layer with photoreceptor layer disruption. Choriocapillaris atrophy & retinal scars developed as lesions healed. These novel clinicopathological findings added to understanding the ocular manifestation of disease, previously considered a spectrum of CRAO secondary to angio-invasion
