Abstract

Exudative retinal detachment may occur secondary to various pathologies such as Coat’s disease, choroidal hemangioma, choroidal effusion syndrome, central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), choroidal metastasis etc. and may require a medical or a surgical intervention after knowing the underlying cause .Surgical intervention to drain the sub retinal fluid may require external drainage – cut through or using an intravenous catheter ,scleral windows or a pars plana vitrectomy.

This video shows the various techniques for draining the subretinal fluid in a cse of exudative retinal detachment highlighting the various tips and tricks which may play an important role in settling the exudative retinal detachment.
