Abstract

Methods: A retrospective case review was done for patients undergoing T-Kpro assisted Vitreo-retinal surgeries followed by penetrating keratoplasty at a tertiary eye care centre from Jan 2018 to Dec 2019. Various parameters were studied and correlation established, where felt necessary. The primary outcome measure was visual gain following surgery.

Results: six patients had undergone T-Kpro assisted vitreo- retinal surgeries following complicated open globe injury. Initial visual acuity was in range of PL+ PR inaccurate. All patients had visual gain and their visual acuity were in the range of 1/60. Retina was attached in 05 cases. Corneal graft failed in 03 cases. 02 patients had developed secondary glaucoma.

Conclusion: T-KPro assisted vitreo-retinal surgery should be attempted in severe traumatized eye, especially one-eyed patients. They generally gain anatomic stability but poor visual gain due to post- operative complications.
