Abstract
Objective: To report unusual disease course of pigmented paravenous chorioretinal atrophy (PPCRA) and the role of multimodal imaging in it.
Design: Case report and review of literature
Result: 18 years old female patient with a known case of tuberculosis whom we incidentally discovered bony spicules along retinal veins, clinically we made a diagnosis of PPCRA. The patient had the normal color vision and no night vision and distant vision problems. Autofluorescence imaging showed paravenous hypofluorescence with surrounding hyperfluorescence. OCT angiography showed abnormal vessel density at deep capillary plexus and choriocapillaris. Full-field ERG findings showed bilateral marked reduction of cone function but normal rod function.
Conclusion: This case demonstrates the role of the association of PPCRA in a patient with tuberculosis and OCT angiography throws light on its pathogenesis of it. In presence of normal color vision, the patient can have an abnormal cone response on ERG.
