Abstract

Introduction-Computer vision syndrome is a relatively new clinical entity with pain,redness,tiredness of eyes with occasinal development of dry eye disease which may have to be treated on a long term basis. Materials and Methods–200 patients who are all employee in a govt. organisation and came with various symptoms like backache,pain nape of the neck apart from common symptoms like pain,redness,itchiness,watering of eyes have been treated with antiinflammatory,decong.drops,dry eye relieving eye drops,spectacles with various options. Results-Around 80% patients recovered with treatment options mentioned.Some patients had refractive error which was not known to them.15% patients develop dry eye symptoms which was difficult to alleviate with usual dry eye medications. Discussion-A sizeable no.of patients needs treatment for dry eye symptoms for a prolonged time .Conclusion-computer vision syndrome is an important clinical condition and may need adequate care on long-term.
