Abstract
PURPOSE: To describe new, simple, reproducible, minimally invasive surgical technique for medial canthal tendon dehiscence and deformity.METHODS:10 patients having medial canthus deformity following various causes including trauma, medial ectropion, lid laxity in Facial palsy were included. Patients underwent simplified technique of Posterior medial canthal anchorage. This creates a scar along suture line giving sustained stability to lid. Medial thermoplasty was performed in patients with facial palsy along with ancillary procedures. Paper describes surgical technique .RESULTS:All patients had satisfactory outcome with regards to medial canthus position, proper lower lid apposition to globe with punctum alignment.CONCLUSIONS:This technique is reproducible and a safe alternate to conventional open technique of anchoring the lid to posterior lacrimal crest which is challenging even in experienced hands.
