Abstract
Reporting the case of a 14 year girl with c/o defective vision and floaters in the right eye. On evaluation BCVA was 6/12p with RAPD, posterior segment revealed a quiet AVF with hyperemic disc and blurred margins. No focal lesions were seen. AF imaging revealed a uniform rim of hyperfluorescence around the disc. SD-OCT showed parapapillary loss of photoreceptor layer and significant subretinal fluid. Mantoux and TPHA was negative. FFA revealed a characteristic peripapillary disc leak and HFA – an enlarged blind spot. A provisional clinical diagnosis of AZOOR was made. She symptomatically improved with oral steroids over 2 weeks to a BCVA of 6/6. SD-OCT at this juncture revealed complete fluid resolution along with newly regenerating Outer Retinal layers in the peripapillary region : a finding very unique seen in the recovery phase of AZOOR. ; as ellipsoid zone defects are persistent and usually indicate subclinical sign of the disease.
