Abstract
Operative records of 1205 patients who underwent surgeries between July 2017-January2022 were retrospectively reviewed and 22 patients who underwent full tendon modified Nishida(FTMN) with minimal follow up of 6 months were included in the study. Among them 4 were pediatric cases. Mean age was 24.41years. Among 22 patients, 7 had MED, 8 had 6th nerve palsy (6thNP), 3 patients had Muscle slippage, 2 patients had Eso-DRS and 2 patients had Exo-DRS. Mean deviation improved from 65.52pd to 12.73 pd with improvement of duction from -4.33to -1.82. Overall mean correction achieved by FTMN was 43.95pd. Mean correction achieved by vertical FTMN in MED was 52.57pd, horizontal FTMN on medial side was 51.67pd, horizontal FTTM on temporal side in paralytic and restrictive squint was 41.75pd and 27.5pd respectively. To conclude, FTMN is a safe and effective transposition procedure both in achieving primary position alignment and improving duction in a variety of complex large-angled strabismus.
