Abstract
AIM: To assess the postoperative complications associated with combined pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and intravitreal ozudrex implantation for a variety of posterior segment indications. Method: retrospective study wherein data of patients who underwent combined procedure from October 2021 to May 2022 with at least 3 months follow-up were collected RESULT: Out of 30 patients, complications were recorded in 10 patients (33.3%). Recurrence of CME (22%), progression of PDR (30%), elevated IOP (30%) and anterior migration of implant (20%) were the complications encountered. Conclusion: Combined PPV and ozudrex implantation even though a safe procedure in controlling macular edema due to various pathologies is not without its complications. The most significant post-operative complications associated with combined procedure was anterior migration of the implant associated with sutured scleral fixated lens and iris claw lens.
