Abstract
Aim- to evaluate the response of treatment in NTG patients.
Material & methods- an observational study was conducted from July 2020 to june 2022 on 164 patients of NTG. Demographic details of the patients were recorded. Glaucoma evaluation was done. All patients were started on Brimonidine eyedrop. Latanoprost eyedrop was added in 13 eyes after 1 month. Trabeculectomy was done in 8 eyes after 3 months. Follow up was done after 6 months.
Result- in first follow up- IOP was static in 56 eyes(17%), under control in 272 eyes(83%). Visual field changes were static in 207 eyes(63%), progression in 13 eyes(4%). In second follow up- IOP was static in 12 eyes(3.6%), under control in 316 eyes(96.4%). Visual field changes were static in 258 eyes(79%), progression in 8 eyes(2%). In third follow up, IOP and visual field was under control in all eyes.
Conclusion- Brimonidine, Latanoprost and trabeculectomy are effective in IOP reduction and preventing visual field progression in NTG patients.
